The three major areas of service that the NSS group provides are Engineering/Planning
Services, NSS Telecom Implementation Services, and Professional Services. These
are further described below.
Engineering/Planning Services:
This service covers the initial planning and engineering of wireless telecom
systems and includes services as follows:
- Engineering site survey
- Development of site drawing
- Installation instructions
- Statement of work
- Installation bill of materials
- Installation and quality checklist
- As-built or redline drawings
- Purchase, delivery, and inventory of equipment
NSS Telecom Implementation:
Telecom Implementation (TI) is the complete installation, commissioning, and integration of all network elements into a fully operational core. This service can provide any or all of the functions listed below. Installation includes the complete installation of the engineered network elements to the applicable vendor standards and will be audited upon completion. Commissioning ensures that all components of the network elements are fully functional as described by vendor specifications including spares management. Integration ensures all
elements are functioning properly as a network as designed by the operator.
The TI may also include the engineering and planning functions as described
in the previous section.
- Installation of all engineered network elements
- Power verification and power-up
- Cable verification
- Commissioning of all installed network elements
- Integration of all elements into the network
- Alarm testing
- Feature testing
- Call testing
- Quality audit
Professional Services:
Professional services include “in-service” activities
such as hardware upgrades, software upgrades, and
extensions of in-service offices. In addition, Mycom also provides
engineers to augment existing staff or to perform the maintenance
and operations function on site or remotely. Competency transfer is
another service that can be provided to assist in the training of
an operators existing staff. At a minimum the following services are
available:
- Competency transfer
- Maintenance and operations
- Hardware upgrades and extensions
- Software upgrades
- TI and engineering services as listed above.
